TAE Thermostat
1. Use
TAE .. is an explosion-proof thermostat, which is designed as two-state controller and in connection with INTERTEC electrical heater can regulate preset temperature inside a box.
Thermostat can be different switching or for monitoring applications.
TAE AM version contains alarm: if temperature in the box is lower than 7 °C, then the NC contact triggers an alarm. After reaching 16 °C, the contact closes again.
2. Advantages
- Robust aluminium construction
- Fully sealed with silicone
- Relatively accurate if the thermostat is place on the heater
- Storage and working temperatures range from -50°C to +180°C
3. Measuring accuracy
The air temperature in the heated cabinet may not be the same everywhere. Depending on the difference between the indoor and outdoor temperature (delta T), the insulation, the heater configuration and installed equipment, etc., the temperature (e.g., between the top and the bottom) may fluctuate by 10 degrees or more.
For precise instrument temperature control, a proportional controller with a temperature sensor such as INTERTEC TC ATEX D .... is used
If the thermal feedback TAE is installed on the heater (see Section 5 Installation), it provides the derivative control characteristics while maintaining the temperature at the center of the enclosure at the stated value of accuracy approx.. +/- 3 ° C.
4. Types a technical parameters
Number in type marking represents the desired switching value in °C.

5. Installation
TAE thermostat has one mounting hole.
The supplied M6x25 screw or smaller pass-through bolt can be used for mounting.
For use as a temperature regulator the TAE with defined temperature should be installed on INTERTEC heater.
5.1 - Installation of TAE thermostat on MULTITHERM heater
Heaters like e.g. MULTITHERM, are equipped slit fitting rails in the rib profile.
- Slightly loosen the TAE thermostat nut / screw
- Insert the screw head into one rib profile slot. (The length of PTFE remains outside)
- Carefully tighten by turning the TAE thermostat.
5.2 - Installation of TAE thermostat on VARITHERM heater
On both sides of the VARITHERM are M6 holes.
- Turn the threaded rod provided with the screw sleeve of VARITHERM approx.. heater 5 mm into one of these threaded holes
- Put on the white PTFE spacer
- Attach the end of the threaded rod to the thread of the M6 TAE thermostat and tighten it carefully by turning the thermostat
