CP Megatherm

CP MEGATHERM is an electric ribbed heater designed for convection air heating inside a box.

1. Use

Heating of boxes in potentially explosive atmospheres. Designed for:

Frost protection
Condensation protection
Mostly for vertical installation

2. Advantages

Vertical design allows optimal installation close to heated device in the box
Horizontal installation is possible
Thermostat for frost protection in the supply cable (TS option)
High heat transfer through a large area of black aluminium ribs

3. Description

CP MEGATHERM is an electric ribbed heater designed for convection air heating inside a box.

The temperature class limiter is integrated into the heating block core and disconnects the power supply in case of a technical fault or overheating due to an external heat source. This limiter can only be repaired at the factory.
For safe operation, the heater must be operated under conditions that ensure that the heater is not exposed to temperatures higher than those specified on the limiter:

TS, TAE or TC thermostats shut off the heater if the cabinet temperature is high
To ensure sufficient convection, minimal distances must be observed. fig. below (point 7) and at the same time it is necessary to avoid covering of the heater's ribs.

For any specific applications requiring high temperature maintenance we will be pleased to select the suitable combination of heater and controller.

A temperature indicator shows potential problems and failures at an early stage (e.g. incorrect installation). Please check the application if more than 3 fields have irreversibly changed to black!

All INTERTEC explosion-proof heaters can be delivered according to American NEC standards (CSA/NRTL/FM/UL) and are available also in cheaper safe area design.

* This Heater type is also available with the TS40 protective thermostat integrated into the supply cable to keep the temperature up to 40 ° C.
Ambient temperature control must be carried out using an additional TAE thermostat or TC temperature controller. (Other types upon request)
